Zoo, arboretum, caves
was founded in 1951 and is located in the unique environment provided by the Ostrava Forest. More than 270 species of animal are currently looked after on 100 ha of land. Ostrava Zoo actively participates in the protection of endangered species through its role in rescue programmes, while providing a wide spectrum of activities for the public to enjoy. A special children’s zoo exists for encountering domesticated animals and which also has a playground and other attractions.
